Also known as Mission, Craftsman, Prairie, Stickley and other names, Arts & Crafts furniture was first made popular in the United States by the Stickley brothers in the 1900's and 1910's. Each of the brothers worked in independent shops, but built basically the same style of furniture. The most famous and first brother to set up shop was Gustav. Today Gustav Stickley's original pieces bring some of the highest antique prices for furniture of American decent. |
| Later many architects adapted the Arts & Crafts style into their building designs. They include Greene & Greene and Frank Lloyd Wright. |
